I like the DMB version, but I like this one too, Dave does have alot more emtion but willy, brings this "presence to the song"

Daeadtra<You are right on with your accessement of this song. It tell s a story. From a grave digger, not a super starr trying to empress. That s the magic of it all. Few can pull this off Willie can and Willie does. Once again I am so happy that someone else with a soul understands music and not the spotlight. DAEADTRA keep it up.

i like DMB version better. more emotion. better sounding all around.

I think both versions have their merits. This one shows less emotion but tells the story in an almost narrator sort of tone. Dave shows emotion, and it feels much more involved. I do personally prefur Dave's version but they both have a completely different feel on the same story, and that's something interesting, I think.

I think I know what you mean, but to me his voice is *full* of emotion :). Just not the kind on American Idol.

Super Song Perfectly Performed by a true Artist, if you would ask me, but you didn't did I ?
Chuckles9350(July 2, 2009 at 4:52 am)
you can say that again. Dave has some complex songs. Don't drink the water, Louisiana Bayou...how can you be too young to talk about stuff like this? plenty of people a lot younger than Dave have dealt with death.

either way still a kickass song
Daeantra(June 29, 2009 at 1:57 am)
I like the fact that his voice has limited to no emotion. To me, it's like he's telling a story, not trying to sing a song.Adding emotion would just take away from the morbidness of the lyrics.Just my two cents.
TheWoogyEffect(June 28, 2009 at 8:51 pm)
does it matter? he wrote the song. whatever he sings are the lyrics
