HD Video Eruption Gives Clues to How Volcanoes Work
Jonathan Lees, a volcanologist from the University of North Carolina, and colleagues matched up HD video observations with seismic data to map the forces on Mt. Santiaguito in Guatemala.
That's a great freakin question, I wanna know too!

OK, been doing some research, and realise it's santiaguito (actually,if I had looked at your info at top right,I would've realised this Duh!)What I think is so cool about this volcano, is that it erupts, seemingly from NOWHERE! Apparently, this is called a "ring-vent" eruption. The dome stays in place and the eruption just comes out of it's margins, from underneath rock and rubble.....AMAZING!

Hi Wired, I'd like to know what volcano this is, and where the vid was taken from (main crater, subsiduary crater or whatever) also the date if poss. Thanks.

"If the title of this is 'HD Video Eruption', why isn't the video actually in HD?"I think a lot of people are confused about the difference between HQ and HD on YouTube.Of course, you would expect a technology magazine to get it right. Kinda embarrassing.
