ive found a very easy way of making small amounts of hydrogen. magnisnuim is easy to find as you can buy pencil sharpeners that are made out if it but trying to find hydrofloric acid well thats just plain hard. if any one can tell me how to buy or make hydrofluric acid plz reply.

Great chemical reaction demonstrations. Although the professor said he was not sure why the hydrogen burns with a colour, explaining that it might be due to the carbon in the skin of the balloon. It may be so in part. But there are cases where there can be a reddish colour from the the burning of hydrogen and oxygen such as in rocket engines, especially like the Delta Heavy with LRB's. It is an all H and O fueled rocket. Could same of the red you are seeing be due to the H alpha line emissions?

a giant tennis ball with a bar through it... Seriously,I think I could spend an entire day in that office pointing at stuff and saying "what's this for? What's that do? What is this?" while the prof gleefully demonstrates all his nifty gadgets, samples, and visual aides to me.His office should be a yearly field trip for students taking chemistry at local secondary schools.
