The phase difference isn't producing a cancellation, but there is phasing going on, and it is mindblowing.

Your ignorance is suprisingly espected.

What is happening speaks of the brain being able to diverge,in a right handed person that hand can repeat the phrase on its own, without normal attention. The concentration is on the left hand which does the phasing and occupies the brain.

I once played two recorders with my nose.

Yes, well done. Yes, clever. Even imaginative. And acoustically instructive. And visually arresting. Maybe even enjoyable on the right hallucinogen. But music? Maybe or a movie about existential dread.

is that what i think? is one hand always playing the same but because of the other hand different tempo creates a phase cancellation?simply mind blowing.

steve you are a musical prodigy. Minimalist to the core.

In my opinion, this doesn't actually recquire a huge amount of musical skill - the part in itself isn't technically difficult. But the real challenge is the focus. Accurate and consistent phasing is immensely challenging due to the sheer mind power needed, and Peter Aidu clearly has that power.

i´m sorry for my sarcasm. of course it makes no difference for the sounding music wether it is written in eights or sixteenths or quarters, but Reich wrote it down in sixteenths, so when speaking about what´s happening in the music one must be aware of this, even if it may seem stingy or hair-splitting
