The classic physics experiment involving sound, a tube of propane and fire. Created for Flash Forward 2006, but useful in any case where you are not allowed to have fire. I push through the tube 449 Hz then higher frequencies, then some jazz and then some rock. This is real life sound visualization.
Wait, sound waves are propagated by compression of particles in the medium. My reasoning would lead me to believe the areas of compression would have the greatest particle density and the greatest pressure so they would account for the peaks in the flame. The areas of decompression should account for the troughs in the flame.
