it wa sonl tested to find out whether it would be effective in sabotaging enemy troops by spiking them with acid. they even tryd it in vietnam by droping it outa plane...( not sure it was vietnm but heh)

Today it's Modafinil which is structural different to Amphetamines. And it has by far a lower affinity to Norepinephrine, Dopamine and Serotonin and the potention for addiction is much lower due to the missing euphoria. For example used in the Air Force and in UK/French troops. Just to deal with deprivation of sleep and it also enhances cognitiv abilities.
