He had nearly 30,000 royal Cambodian troops and police with him, an impressive show of strength. On November 9, 1953, Paris granted Sihanouk his wish. worn down by the Vietnam war and having only marginal concern about losing Cambodia, France transferred its major powers over to king Sihanouk. He declared himself the father of Cambodian independence.On March 28, 1969 , after allowing the settlement of north-Vietnamese troops everywhere in Cambodia , Sihanouk openly declared at a press conference : "the communists have invaded Cambodia -- "I cannot hide them any more - It is time that the International community knows about it..."
every historical article links Sihanouk to Khmer Rouge. Sorry, no matter what good he bring to Khmer, it is heavily outweighed by the millions of Khmer that died by the Khmer Rouge.

Sihanouk the Chinese puppet and ass kisser. Loves the Chinese. The Chinese in turn created the Khmer Rouge to kill off Khmer. When all Khmer is dead, the Chinese take over the country. That was the plan. The Khmer Rouge were stupid morons that knew nothing, killing their own kind against their own interest. Sihanouk is the culprit for the creation of Khmer Rouge.
