If Cambodia was truly popular before the KR then I bet international people would have known what was going on between 1975-1979. Americans and French were in Cambodia just a few years before the KR and other nationalities were forced to leave in 1975 by the KR, they should've known something was fishy. Ofcourse not everyone knew at some people who lived abroad did know.

Well my grandmother visited Cambodia like last summer and she said that Cambodia has improved . They have malls there now and better rodes . =D

Your parents right. Cambodia was a nice, peacefully and free country. The people were very friendly and very secure all over the places. I left Cambodia 1968, back 70 to visit after the US invasion, Cambodia had changed, 72 a lot of crimes and US bombes all over, 74 just stick at home, not able to move around. Had chance 1967 to visit Angkor Wat firts time and before left my love Cambodia.
