its sad to me because Sidney and Billy Dee WIlliams were screwed so hard in Hollywood for so long. So much talent there, and we truely only were shown a glimpse.

That was cool at 2:16 how Denzel said he be following in Sidney's footsteps and then they both raised their trophies up at the same time. That was smooth right there! Oscars for "Lillies of the Field"&"Training Day"!

Sidney Poitier stood out for me as an example of integrity and intelligence in his performance. I never forgot when I saw Lillies of the Field" as well as "To Sir With Love" which is my favorite due to the subject of teaching young adults how to survive out in the real world. Any one that one wants to see great performance AND a great subject should watch it!!

OH yeah HOLLYWOOD has "changed" every timeI see a "HISPANIC" in a movie he is either playing the role of A hustler, a drug addict, etc etc etc... HOLLYWOOD HAS "CHANGED" A LOT...

"Lillies Of The Field" was the first movie i saw starring Mr. Poitier. This film and "To Sir With Love" are my two favorites."If you wanted the sky I would write across the sky in lettersThat would soar a thousand feet high 'To Sir, With Love"
