Lillies of the Field is a very good and wholesame movie and Poitier was perfect for that role. I always thought he should won for In the Heat of the Night as well.

Oh what a great moment in African-American history! What an incredible individual Portier is. His persistence in a tough industry for blacks certainly paid off and the world as benefited from Portier's life a lot more than people realise.Never before have I seen so many good comments on a YouTube video!

When I went to LA in 2005 I took pictures of SIDNEY POITIER's ENGRAVED handprints i seen on SUNSET Blvd,This was special to me because he was the first actor ive seen On Tv,My mom watched all his movies,and he was her favorite actor,I have not seen in in the FLESh,Butt! seein LA AND HIS HANDPRINts and footprints,Just made my day!Truly a blessing,Job well DOne Mr.POITIER,You deserve your OSCAR,Much love,Erica.
