wongster - alan greenspan and the rest of the federal reserves were partially to blame. dont forget the fed reserve is a privately owned entity. however congress passed laws to make it easier to get loans as well. it was the perfect storm. i think people need to come to the conclusion taht big government is never ever good for this capitialistic country. remember - the more you rely on the gov ernment the more pwoer they also have to destroy you and take everythign away.

The mortages were easy to get, that's right...but not because the politicians said so...you overestimate their power. It's because there was so much money available from the FED.This whole recession is not made by politics. It's done by the FED.

btw - this whole recession is from the democratic congress of past stating everyone should own a home. what happened? mortgates were easy to get (no money invested into the home - no money down), the mortgage was sold off to another company and then the bottom fell out. the mortgage companies did not care - they got their money and people were left with no value in their purchases thus defaulting on their mortgage - why pay a monthly cost for the house when it is not even valued as high?

wow - that is all i can say. wake up and stop drinking the kool aid. obama is simply another vapid suit with many promises taht will not be kept. unemployment is 9.5%. stimulus worked well! now we have LESS jobs and more debt! great going! dumbocrats are simply foolish. othey really have no understanding of how things work. then you have this tool obama - ultra liberal. not even a dem! you will see his approval ratings continue to drop. horrible president.
