hmm. I have some reel to reel tapes of lovely nezaket made when she visited Scotland in about 1982 -- I must get them out and see if they're still playable. She sang beautifully, as here, putting all her heart and considerable charm into her performance.

(cont) Habil Aliov/Eliyev, looking younger than in most of the clips on utube, was on the same tour and gave a private performance afterwards in the home of friends. Fabulous playing, I've never forgotten it. I hadn't heard of him before, but you knew almost the moment he started to play that you were in the presence of a master. The only problem with the recordings was mains hum, but maybe now with digital noise removal...
