Nation columnist Naomi Klein explores a key argument from her new book, The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism: After 9/11 the Bush Administration launched a new economy, driven by the notion of an endless war against an undefined notion of evil. Read more in her 2005 Nation column "The Rise of Disaster Capitalism."
If you choose to support fascism, and eliminating the role of the individual, then by all means, go ahead. You may look at the economic condition in CA, NJ, MI, NY, and find it preferable. I'm simply providing you with the facts, you can choose to deal with them, or not. So far, the only thing you've managed to say is that "Hitler killed leftists;" but the term "leftists" is entirely defined by you. Traditionally speaking, leftists were those against the state, and for individual rights/markets.

"truly have nothing to do with Obama."What do you call "private-public partnerships?" What happens when business leaders sit down with political leaders? Reimann said that the Nazzi's forced firms to engage in unprofitable and risky ventures; does that ring a bell at all? Maybe you should read the quotes again, and rethink your positions?

"You have yet to produce anything that links Nazism and socialism."Fascism means the elimination of the individual, his liberties, his rights, and his property; as well as the complete takeover of the means of production. How does this not link fascism to socialism? Do you know what socialism is? Haven you ever read Orwen, Marx, or Engles? Your problem is that all of your talking points come from loser pundits on MSNBC. Open a book my friend.

If you say so.

Sorry, you're foomfing.I must say, it is satisfying to see you squirm, having been so smug and superior.I think you're finished. The quotes are weak, don't advance your argument and truly have nothing to do with Obama. So sorry!
rsaswest(July 12, 2009 at 3:52 am)
You seem so proud of this yet it does nothing to support your argument conflating Nazism and Socialism.
Questfortruth86(July 12, 2009 at 3:51 am)
Some of the quotation markets vanished for whatever reason. All of my previous posts are quoted from Reimann, a German who remarked on Hitler's socialism in 1939, a socialism which perfectly resembles our current condition under Obama and Bush.
rsaswest(July 12, 2009 at 3:50 am)
Yeah, so?You have yet to produce anything that links Nazism and Socialism, except to brand Socialism as totalitarianism and then link it to Nazism. The Socialism of Western Europe and the Scandinavian Countries hardly qualifies as totalitarian. You're finished. So sorry.

" People still have to work for money and have to live on money incomes. Possession of capital still provides income. But this income is largely at the mercy of State bureaucrats and Party officials" - Guenter Reimann, 1939 on FascismThe main plank in the national socialist program is to abolish the liberalistic concept of the individual Adolf HitlerYou done yet?

"The totalitarian regime has annihilated the most important conservative force of capitalism, the belief that private property ought to be a sacred right of every citizen and that the private property of every citizen ought to be protected. Respect for private property has penetrated the spirit of the people in all capitalist countries. It is the strongest bulwark of capitalism. Fascism has succeeded in destroying this conservative force..."

"The capitalist under fascism has to be not merely a law-abiding citizen, he must be servile to the representatives of the State. He must not insist on "rights" and must not behave as if his private property rights were still sacred. He should be grateful to the Fuehrer that he still has private property. This state of affairs leads to the final collapse of business morale, and sound the death knell of the self-respect and self-reliance which marked the independent businessman under capitalism."

"Backed by the General Staff of the army, Nazi bureaucrats have been able to embark upon schemes which compel the most powerful leaders of business and finance to undertake projects which they consider both risky and unprofitable."
