I've met many people who knew JD personally&they attest that he was a genuinely nice guy.Yes he could be moody,pompous,depressive etc but we all have faults.The guy had a lot of friends,folks who knew him before he was famous&had no ulterior motive for staying his friend. Over 2000 people attended his funeral. Rainbow might consider that just because he met one or two people that clashed with JD&found his personality rubbed them the wrong way,doesn't mean their opinion is the only one.

No offense,nolarae,but I think you might be mistaken.Annie to my knowledge never sang on stage.John said once she 'has a terrible voice,but sings with enthusiasm,which I prefer to technique anyday."Cassy,his second wife, was in a country music singing duo with her mum in Australia.She did sing backup on occasion.She hasn't a brilliant voice,but it's tuneful enough&she's released a few rather ordinary but pleasant indie pop albums.

Yup.Anna Zapp,his costume designer in the 70s,the lady who made all those fab embroidered shirts he wore back then,said he was about 5'10 and at that time varied between about 140 and 145 pounds.Up until about '92,John was very slim due to his active lifestyle&a semi-vegetarian diet .after his divorce from Cassy,alcohol,a bachelor diet and a stressed thryroid made him gain a bit of weight.I met him in 1988,and he still had the stove pipe legs he had here.
