yeah but eisenhower was one of the main minds behind the Dday invasion so would you not have to credit him for that. i will just say that winning the war was debatable without the USSR. you would have to figure that more nations in whatever form once they saw a more direct threat to themselves would have intervened against the treacherous NAZIs and that the NAZIs would need to invoke total war throughout the world and against their own allies like japan, india, and turkey to win. well see, now you're in the area where I am with Eisenhower. you say you don't want to credit Stalin too much because he was as bad as Hitler, well I dont' want to credit Eisenhower that much because he was as bad as Jackson (who was no good). and no, The US would've never won, and that's what made D-day so much important--it was all or nothing, and the Manhattan project wasn't completed until the end of the war, The US would've never won because they would've been easily overwhelmed by Hitler.

I think he should be given a modicum of credit for taking Hitler down. The soviets did help invaluably with winning the war b/c of the two fronts aspect but I dont want to credit Stalin too much he was nearly as bad as Hitler. I think the US may have very well won without the Soviets due to the Manhattan Project plus the fact that we never saw the US fight without the help of the Soviets so its hard say one way or the other about their help. all i know is hes a helluva lot better than Reps today

The reason why he integrated the schools is because he respected constitutional authority, not for any moral purpose. He opposed integration in the military, and the blacks who fought in D-Day? didn't even get to parade with him in Paris. did you read today's BBC article?Eisenhower was a closet jackass, and he didn't topple Nazism. that's totally disregarding the contribution of Soviets who fought, which, without, America wouldn't exist today.
