This is again taken straight from Wikipedia saying:"Certain parts from FreeBSD's and NetBSD's implementation of Unix were incorporated in Nextstep, the core of Mac OS X."So if the very core of the OSX is ripped from another fucking operating system, how exactly can Steve Jobs say its his "original idea"? At least Bill Gates can put his hands up and say "Hey, Im just a salesman", and this makes Steve Jobs far more of an asshole than Bill Gates is.

And also you ask what commercial company gives away a Unix based OS? Probably very few/none because they are COMMERCIAL companies obviously but considering how much features OSX "borrowed" from the BSD distros even OSX's marketing is based on BSD's slogans, so its hard to call Apple's shitty OS "original". Slogans such as the "We dont get viruses" that Apple so love to taunt Windows with taken straight from BSD and also take a look at my next comment which proves my point more (damn 500ch limit)

Actually it was Unix based from the very start. If you watch the documentary Steve Jobs himself said that the Xerox operating system's GUI "inspired" him to make his own operating system, and Xerox's operating system is one of many other Unix based operating systems, which makes Macs Unix based from the very start so maybe YOU should do some research. who cares which? it's only a tool, it's what you create with it that counts. I've used Mac and PC and found no advantage of either. Graphic software and music software is almost identical across both platforms.

Cost more and are better?Have you ever actually looked into what it costs to build a computer with the same specs as an iMac and install OS X on it? It costs half, sometimes even less. Macs are overpriced, everyone can universally agree with that. When you buy Apple, you buy the snobby "culture" as if it was a tax on the product.ur not kewl unless u have mac n ipods ^_^

Macs Were NOT based on UNIX, It didn't become unix based until OS X in 2001. Do some research. And the Mac was created before Windows. Do some more research. Tell me what commercial company gives away its FULL UNIX (not linux) OS?

Funny how he says Microsoft can't come up with original ideas and that if it wasn't for shitty Macs there wouldn't be Windows -- considering that Macs were based on Unix and if it weren't for operating systems like BSD, there wouldn't be a fucking Mac...talk about originality. Steve Jobs is as big an asshole as Bill Gates if not more of a dick, because the point of BSD was to keep it open-source, not make people pay $300 for a shitty OS for the Crappintosh and for a Mac with outdated hardware.
