I'm not argueing or wishing to be offensive but to say Brits teeth are worse is not true. I don't know the proportion of Americans living in poverty but it may be relatively a greater number than in the UK.Poverty is a shame anywhere, and one would hope we are still allies. With Obama you have a good chance of acheiving Social/State healthcare, and with Brown we have a good chance of retaining ours. Good luck to us both :)

No I said 'those in films etc', so not everybody.As you point out the reality the poorer have bad teeth everywhere, in the UK everybody has access to subsidised healthcare through taxes. So nobody is refused treatment. I was pointing out the ridiculous myth that Brits teeth are bad, since the National Health Service act didn't come about until 1946, it might be that service personal saw poor teeth of Brits during the war, when allies and that fuelled the myth we have today, but I don't know.

What are you talking about? I think your "it is likely" is a giveaway that you have no idea. Do you think everyone in the US can afford "cosmetic teeth"? While we're probably a little too preoccupied with (yes, unnatural-looking) whitening, we generally have very healthy teeth (though for obvious reasons, I can only vouch for the lower-middle-class on up... poorer people being more likely to lack good dental care).
