I also think it may have been referenced in The Bourne Identity. When the car goes down the stairs in Paris, Franka Potente screams very loudly, like in this film.

oh thats meant to be a refference to a famous old german filmthere's a bit in that movie where this opera singer hits a note so high and so loud she smashes all the glasses in a restraunt.and cos this was part of a re-vitalizing movment in german films, the director decided to put in a neat little salute to the old great german filmsps: i'm a film-making student :P
