You may be correct. It does split wood, but the machines are less wear and tear on my bones. :->

I believe the axe you are wielding in the beginning of the vid is indeed a splitting axe, and not a maul. I purchased a maul today (I am very exited about it), and a maul is an axe on one side, and a sledge on the other side, and weighs about 8 pounds. I saw the axe you are holding at Lowes today too, and it's about 4 pounds.

these tools are slow, u can build one thats faster by urself in ur own garage, if have the right tools for it ofcourse, and some knowledge and free time....

i would have to dissagre with him on bing the fact the a gas one is the fastes a flywheel one would kill it in a race. if you are splitting green would below 0 a ax or mall will out split it on softwoods as well
