Jerry Lee Lewis - Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On (1957)
As a pianist, "The Killer" Jerry Lee Lewis always complained because he had to sit down during his shows. Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash suggested him to stand up. Jerry Lee accepted their advice. So he started to kick the chairs, to go up on the keyboards and even to burn pianos.
I love how people have to spew out all of these tidbits of information as if they knew him or were there for it. People watch way too much TV and movies.

Just a little bit of fire and brimstone preacher in some of those verses ... something he picked up along the way.Supposedly always viewed himself as having bought a one way ticket to hell.

The trouble with today's popular music is that those doing it don't take enough amphetamines.. which is how we end up with the likes of Coldplay..

When he was a kid Jerry Lee would sneak into Haney's Big House, a black club in his hometown of Ferriday LA, and watch the black piano players that passed through with all the blues and r&b acts of the time. Rock 'n Roll was started by white hillbillies who loved black music.
