one simplified lesson on youtube makes me feel i learn as much as a lecture, where i sleep/draw/eat. my attention span's settles in 1 min depending on the tcher then i learn my subjects by myself. here, with no reason to sit for 1 h anthropological lectures, I do, not in one go, but learn something anyway. jc1 now

your surprised about contradictions from some heartless bureaucrat running your education camp? what you dont get is that the "adults" at your school are at a JOB. a job that has no competition in the marketplace so they can provide you with whatever quality of service they want. want to know how to fix education? abolish the existence government

Adults should guide us just as much as we should care. At least focus on accepting your own responsibilities if you're going to tell us to. If you take care of that, I garuntee you these statistics will change drastically. Just to make it clear, this doesn't go out to all the parents, teachers, and so on of the world. You know who you are.

Sometimes I just don't get it. I am a middle schooler going into the 8th grade, and I don't know what adults are trying to tell me sometimes. You guys tell us to enjoy our childhood and live it up one day, and then tell us to focus on the future the next. Which one is it? Are you guys more angry at us than worried? I just don't understand.

Well, I'm assuming that these statistics are an average, and there's about as many below as above. A student who spends a matter of hours studying per week, is busy on their laptop in class, and doesn't open their textbooks more than a few times out of class isn't likely to come away with more than a shred of experience. There's really no reason they should be in school, but they probably are getting a free ride from parents or scholarships, and don't care all that much.
