if you played this song back to back with an R&B song of today, you will instantly notice the difference in quality, of how much music today is losing its creativity.

LOVE, LOVE, LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS SLOW JAM BY NE. Johnny's Baritone and Ralph's tenor range really mesh well on this track.

Johnny made them sound more grown up away fromthe bubble gum image they were fighting. The problem was the others in the group were not utilized.

Boyz II Men's version sucks compared to this because their biggest strength is their biggest weakness. They harmonize too well on a song that calls for distinctive vocals. Even the Jackson 5, Temptations, etc. had vocal distinction. BIIM got their first deal by singing THIS song acapella for Bivins, but they should've left it at that. The music helps make the song soar and so does JG's pipes. No one in BIIM has that. After their first album they stuck to boring lame ballads.

The most unfortunate thing about NE is they used Ralph too much and he couldn't really stand on his own as a solo artist. Bobby Brown had to teach him how to have confidence without 4 dudes backing him up. They didn't use Ricky Bell enough (at all) and it always seemed as if Johnny was battling to be heard since it was his first time singing co-lead. It's not hard to see why Bobby left in 86. It was all Ralph, all the time.

I was born in 85, grew up in d 90's, so I am a 90's kid but hell, they still play this on d radio so kids 12 years old can know this because they're parents and probably older brothers and sisters listen 2 it! I love this classic beautiful song. I didn't get that it was about getting through bad times and it not being great all d time. It just sounded good 2 me then. I hope I meet some1 I want to go through d rain for. I thought I did but he didn't 4 me either.
