I also agree. His tone is perfect for the spot. It lends an air of understated class, intelligence, history of cinema etc his audience is intelligent. This is not COME ON DOWN AND WE WILL GIVE YOU A GREAT DEAL SEE YA HERE!!

I'm sympathetic with Bobby here. He's right, he's not selling cars and he is lending his face to the screen for this ad. I'm not but it's an advert for the Tribecca film festival which DeNiro is a founding member. He has a right to portray himself in the add as he pleases even if it's for the Fox Network. his contributiion to cinema has earned him the right to and sure it's an advert for something he founded. He was stubborn about it but polite and apolgetic.

I don't know, I just think that he should've tried doing something different... It doesn't matter if he knows how to act or not. He's paid to follow the director's orders and instruction. He should've just sucked it in and tried to do it differently. Besides, DeNiro may have a great reputation as an actor, but, with the exception of Righteous Kill (which was a flop) when was the last time yo saw him make a big movie? He was in "Godsend" for Pete's sakes...PS: Im not looking for a fight
