Smashing Pumpkins New York 11.07.2008 HECKLER LANDSLIDE
I saw Smashing Pumpkins Friday night. 2nd row.Concert was ok. Half the show consisted of jam sessions and guitar solos. At least, that's what I thought. Apparently, night one consists of mainly songs they did during last year's warm up tour. Night two consists of a lot of new songs they are working on, including a 30 min song call Gossamer. There was also some 30 min African song that put me to sleep.Some guy was heckling Billy. Billy brought him on stage. The guy bitched about how bad the show last night and tonight sucked. He said there was too much sampling. Billy cursed him out.I heard Billy was in a really bad mood on Thursday night. When he was leaving, he said he was never coming back to New York.
Billy had it coming? I though the 2007 Zeitgeist tour was the reunion tour. I saw them in San Diego and they played all the hits. The following tour was more of the newer experimental shit like you see here.You should have seen them on the previous tour!

lol.. i like your hit song... hahah.. Smashing Pumpkins weren't all that i expected when i went and saw them.. but.. what do you expect all these songs are really old and he probably wants to play something new.. and what he now likes isnt popular..

Billy had this kind of shit coming. When you do a reunion tour after 7 years, you have to play the hits. THEN you can go back to being an artist. Otherwise you're asking for it.

Billy doesn't have to justify himself or explain at all. Jesus Christ, I can't believe anyone would give them shit. He established himself and now he's trying to do some new material, let it ride. Gossamer is amazing, Zeitgeist was great man... They didn't lose much with D'arcy, but I'm sure it's different without James and now they're working with that new line up, give them some time to mesh even better.
