More information:http://... RAPEX rapid alert system for dangerous consumer products is proving a success throughout Europe. The system is intended to address risks to health and safety through the rapid exchange of information between EU countries. When a non-food product is found to be dangerous, the national authorities notify the commission which can then either ban the product or let it be sold on certain conditions. In April, the EU revealed the results of the 2006 RAPEX report, which highlights a sharp rise in the number of notifications resulting in the withdrawal from the market of many products.
Consumers as tenants in UK have only the right to remain silent and pay whatever they're asked. The market is abusive, aggresive and offensive(and I know the terms I'm using and can prove it) and mentioning consumers' rights gives them a big laugh and they comment 'you'll get used to it' in various expressions.

Im glad about the Consumer Protection Act and the Dangerous Goods Act which the EU told Britain to incorportate into our statutory law. They are very good laws, they protect us from harm and give us more rights against big business
