she plays as though she is playing the piano. She needs to keep her fingers down. I like Casals approach to teaching her. She sounds better by the end. In response to the comment about fine tuners, I myself do not use them. They shorten the string and in return change your sound and the placement of natural harmonics. You should consider mechanical pegs. I have a set on one of my cellos and love them. If you're opposed to the new pegs, make sure that your old ones are strung properly for ease.

Casals married Marta Montañez Martínez, a music student of his from Puerto Rico. They settled in the town of Ceiba and lived in a house called "El Pesebre" in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where his mother was born and where Casals made his permanent residence. The annual Casals Festival was inaugurated there in 1957.Casals died in 1973 in San Juan, Puerto Rico

Ante todo te agradezco el tono comedido de tu critica( cosa rara, cuando se habla de estos temas ) .Ojalá fuera como dices, pero por desgracia los nacionalismos, sean del bando que sean, tienden, por su propia naturaleza, a radicalizarse cada vez mas.Ojalá estuvieramos mas unidos!El propio Pau Casals así lo hubiera deseado.
