L3s: Me too. He's been very supportive of his daughter, even though you know it had to have an impact on his relationship with others in the C&W genre. When I was 12, my parents moved. I imagine Lloyd was of the same mind as my parents when he moved to Austin; They both found it easier to move than explain their kid to the neighbors. Natalie wasn't living there, so it was easier for Lloyd. Mine had to explain to the police why they moved after sending me off to school that day.

MM:All kidding aside, based on the public evidence, I have to agree with you. He is a good dad.

MM:Interesting point I had not considered. Explains some things. Thanks for the enlightenment!

L3s: LOL. Sorry, its true. Sometimes things aren't what we thought they were. LLoyd Maines used to give free concerts at Berklee School of Music. He doesn't now. Goodness of his heart? Probably. The fact that the school gave his daughter an honorary degree in 99', then took it back since she didn't meet the requirements for one (attend one semester) and that these events coincided with the start/end of free concerts cannot be related... can they?I like LLoyd. He's a good father.

I often wondered why the Dixie Chicks would do something so blatantly disingenuous as to put their names as writers for songs obviously created by other professionals. Land based radio only pays the producers and the writers for spins! This explains why those big names in dark behind the DC's are willing to put up with that. It also explains why Toby Keith is so much richer than the DC's will ever be. He's writer and producer. The DC's had to share revenue with the professionals and each other.

Apart from the sisters being very hot the one in middle is my favourite

MM:Really? How could that be? Surely the Grammy's are above using the lives and careers of the artists to make political points! That would be such a mean spirited thing to do! Say you were teasing! Say this was satire! Say It AINT SO!!!

NE1:Poor thing. Your world view is so small you can not imagine anyone that could possibly objectively evaluate the DC as a defunct group, without having to assume they are Right Wing.It is ok. If you live long enough, you MIGHT learn to think. Then again, you are in your 40's. If you have not learned by now, there is not a lot of hope. And I LOVE Dixie. Every day here is a nice one. Thanks!

The Dixie Chicks are full of firsts:First musical group (or solo artist) to win grammies in multiple categories, even though other nominees outsold them. Not just in one category, but in all.No other group has accomplished this "miracle" win.The co-nominees outsold them in 2006, and in every case, the co-nominees that lost to the Dixie Chicks on that night have continued to outsell the Dixie Chicks ever since.

Look at their website. Broken links abound.Check their concert schedule.Check press releases.Try to buy a ticket for a concert this year.Grammy's are not voted on by fans. It was an insular group that wanted to make "a statement" to Bush. There the real trouble started. Nat decided to make the band a political icon against a single politician. Well, he is out of office, leaving them irrelevant. Damn shame.Oh, and you have larcdmonster to thank for me being here. Go Larcd!
