well when a ball is hit straight up, it doesn't matter who hit it gravity's gonna bring it down as fast as it wants. But for a while little leagues were being shut down all over because some kids were getting line drives to the heart and dying. Which is also why aluminum bats aren't allowed to be used on NYC streets anymore.
