i did some research and he died because he saved some kids from when the bus fell in some freezing water. Simon was about to get out when he knew another kid was still in the bus but then the bus fell in the water, Joe swam in to get Simon. When Simon finally got the kid out, the bus sank :( Joe swam in and i couldn't find him, Simon floated to the top, He was alive but was unconsious, he died in the hospital. It was pretty sad.
