Nope, this is a Bob Dylan song (1964)But more popular where the versions from Johnny Cash and June Carter who scored a hit with it in 1965. And later joan Baez used it.

If she's that cruel, then you're better off without her. Be resilient. There are many other girls in the world. Whomsoever says that there is that one and only is an ass. Many people (if not most) people who find their true loves have had their hearts broken on at least one prior occasion.

This song skips the ears and goes straight to the heart.I find this song performed by Joan Baez one of the most beautiful songs ever made.

Like I said it's a song full of self-deprecation really, yes it's loving in so much as it's saying "you can get someone who will be all these things but I'm not". Or that you love that person so much you think you're not good enough for them. I meant it's the anti-thesis to the conventional love song.

There is something so beautifully harsh about this song. My girlfriend just sent it to me at the end of a letter breaking up with me with sickening finality. I admire the art of the song and the performance, but I implore others who may be considering using this song as a way of breaking up: please do not. It is more heart-rending than you can know. Imagining that the girl in question could possibly feel what the song expresses makes me wonder if I will ever know happiness again in my life.
