An exemplary exhibition of power, speed, and control by both men. Makes me (almost) wish to take it all up again. Thanks!

In foil and epee hits are scored with the tip only, in saber the whole blade counts. In foil and saber the target is restricted but in epee anything goes. This is foil, where only the torso is a valid target. Basically, their grey vests are the targets. Touches off target don't count and are indicated by the white light.

left handers do tend to over compensate on their left side defence though, and that can be taken advantage of ;)

i fence for a school, and i can tell you that the suits do not have much padding, if hit hard enough you can get bruised. 1. the suits have a very tight weave so it does not strech like a shirt would. plus the weave is atleast 2x as thick as a polo shirt using a very strong fabric. and as long as you are covered, you can only be cut if the foil hits skin. watch your back hand if you weir only 1 glove...nasty cuts you could get
