http://... we're addicted to oil, our twelve-step program should begin with admitting that we have a problem. As the price of oil creeps higher, finding new energy sources is more important than ever. But the search for alternatives, combined with environmental disruptions, is putting new pressures on other essentials like food. There are some things that are going well in the world. Right now, the economy is not one of them.Animation&Design by Chris WellerDirected by Max JosephMusic: "Genesis" by Justicehttp://...

That electric power generation for 2007 is specifically for the U.S. only.
NowSmileForMe(February 23, 2009 at 10:09 pm)
is that for a specific country or the entire planet?
NowSmileForMe(February 23, 2009 at 10:07 pm)
hydro electric dams can release up to 20 times more greenhouse gasses than a coal burning plant, due to the fact that the dam causes water to become stagnant, running rivers stop, and when this happens organic matter that would usually flow out to the ocean and be consumed simply dies and rots, causing them to release CO2 and Methaneknow your stuff before declaring the answer, the real answer lies with solar power, 100 square miles of solar panneled desert would give the us all their power

Your Wrong. Here are the REAL facts (Data from EIA):Electric Generation from 2007 data,Coal - 50% (Fossil Fuel)Natural Gas - 22% (Fossil Fuel)Nuclear - 20% (Atom Power)Other Combined - 8%

We get aprox. 15% of our electric from hydro-electric sources and we only use .05% of our potential. Do the arithmetic. There is the answer.

They should also have said.. To produce one liter Oil you need 23.5 tons of plant material. In the year 1997 we burned 400 times the growth of all the plant material on entire earth.
