no, push ups don't help your biceps, they do nothing in part of that whole workout besides the lat pull and band row thing. that's why people work on triceps while chest, and biceps with back. cause with back you work bi's, chest you work tri's

the angled rows hit the biceps. besides, if you look at his other videos its pretty clear this isn't the only routine he was doing during those months, this most likely just serves as an example.
