The Large Hadron Collider is the largest and most complex scientific instrument ever built and the highest energy particle accelerator in the world.The accelerator is located 100 m underground and runs through both French and Swiss territory. You see unfortunately most of the world's population aren't scientist and mind you the subject of science puts most people to sleep. Look in your science class. Lets say you have 100 students in your science class. Chances are 50 of them are talking about a party going on this weekend. 25 of them are cheating off each other and the last 25 are the ones actually interested. That is why most people think this is a waste of time, end the world, or simply don't care.

Wow....anyone who thinks this is going to destroy the world needs to do some more reading. They are just trying to create anti-matter which can only destroy the mass around itself, equal to itself. Therefore....it won't get far. As in, far enough to destroy something as large as the world. Sheesh, you people need to calm down.
