But if you look closely, you will notice that it is also a sign of victory. "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.(1 John 4:4, John 16:33, 1 John 2:13, 14, etc.)" In Christ (at salvation), you partake of his victory.

This is a great question and the input you are getting is correct. If you would like to look in scripture, this is referenced in Psalms 28:2, Psalms 63:4, Psalms 119:48, Psalms 134:2, Lamentations 2:19, Lamentations 3:41, and Hebrews 12:12. Lifting your hands in a sign of reverence, surrender and submission, and praise unto our God.

yes raising hands is one outward act of worship, as is sitting in silence in awe and wonder, falling on your face and many others....one should not be placed in a higher place than any other or stated that this is the right way to worship and all others are wrong....the key is is it an act of reverence to God's character and deeds or is it bc it feels good and everyone else is doing it =)

Thanks for answering. I was wondering if it was something in scripture or just a tradition. Maybe it's both.

I am a church that has some Spirit-filled people. It is awesome what the Lord is doing in our people!

Praying for you that the Lord will guide you to the right church ... at any rate the Holy Spirit will find you in your home! just put on the music and praise and worship Him! The Lord inhabits the praises of His people!

Thats awesome! Have you been to a spirit-filled church?or is that where He has asked you to be? anyway, the freedom to worship is amazing. May you be blessed this day friend, always listen to the Holy Spirit!

This is SO true. Move when the Holy Spirit tells you. I am part of a Southern Baptist church and if the Holy Spirit tells me to stand on the pew and praise Him, well, all I can say is it's happening! Praise Jesus!
