The federal reserve has hired lobbyists (ie. Linda Robertson, who also lobbied for Enron) in their self interest to prevent government accountability, to keep the status quo. Please help to support HR 1207! The FED does not consist of elected officials. Our own congressmen have the right and responsibility to know!

govts in LDCs arent efficient and corruption is rampant. The outside help would only increase their dependence on DCs. Its not fair to say the conditions such as SAPs attached to these loans or grants are not for the best of poor countries, they are the long term solutions but not for short term, many countries are just not ready to implement them. Botswana, i think it can be a successful story, they did what they been told and now they r enjoying high economic growth.

Once again Pakistan Govt is being forced to run after IMF. Why? IMF&International Banks meant to loan to poor countries like Pakistan impose such heavy conditions/rate of interest that finally it is the common&low paid citizen who suffers. The investor recovers by inflation in return to the taxes imposed or subsidiaries withdrawn. Pakistans lavish ruling/elite class is finally being fed by a low paid citizen. No legal shelter to a low paid citizen is given at any level even if a tax payer

Loans are granted to Pakistan but are not monitored/audited to see the completion of the project they are sanctioned for. Pakistani ruling class&govt departments eventually eat up the entire sum. Are these loans granted to promote hypocrisy, gradually leading to fake inflation, injustice&poverty? The end result nowadays is reaction in the form of suicide bombing&destruction due to the problems mentioned. Kalabagh Dam&many projects are just a dream due to this attitude of IMF&World Bank
