The favourite prog/hard song of most of Genesis fans, including Steve Hackett's guitar solo!!!Super lineup: Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett, Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks. This is from the Foxtrot (Supper is ready) Tour, January 10th 1973 in "Le Club Bataclan", Paris.
the prog era is definitely over though.. it had it's brief moment in the sun, and as a genre it proved to be too self-contained. That kind of stance is not going to win you large amounts of fans.

Young people do give prog a chance like myself. Only 20 years.

"If only Phil Collins didn't f**k them over"I prefer the PG era, too, but I get so tired of hearing how PC destroyed the band. He didn't hold a gun to Banks and Rutherford's heads and demand they start playing pop music. Their first few hits after PG left were written by Rutherford, not Collins. They evolved into a new style as a band, not on the whim of one person.

One of my personal favorites of early Genesis. If only Phil Collins didn't f**k them over we could've had even more classic albums after The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.I wish more young people my age would give prog a chance.

Apologies, I didn't understand that someone had called it Psychedelic.-Joel

In 35 years (over twice as long as you have been alive) of listening to, collecting and writing about prog they are usually defined as classic, sometimes as symphonic (ProgArchives uses that definition, but also calls them classic). They are not psychedelic, however, which was the question.

Its actually usually called "Symphonic Prog" by most people... And just because you're a musicologist, it doesn't mean you understand Prog.-Joel
