It's too late for America now. There are far to many "if thans" entrenched in the system. In the 1920's America could have legislated a cure by removing non-essential government quickly and orderly. By the 1950's the costs of unraveling the work of the "do gooders" would be enormous and painful but there was a way to practice the unraveling as part of an overall treatment regimen. Today we are broadly and terminally contaminated. This all stemmed from govt. knows better than the free man.

Always note their use of the term 'the American people' and 'the people' used to refer to themselves. 'Our children' is one you must learn how to translate. What they are referring to is their view of your children as a natural resource of the government.

That is correct. It's like these anarchists that infest all the political videos on youtube. They're against government supposedly, but then they'll rant endlessly about wanting to kill all business owners, rob from the rich and redistribute to the poor. How will they do that without setting up some sort of organization (government) to do it? They're not anarchists, they're fascists.

Political discussions were so much more fruitful and coherent in those days. The ones we have now are nothing but insubstantial rhetoric and bumper-sticker slogans. This, on this video, is REASONING- an art that has been lost. I loathe my own generation for its inability to think and it's lack of desire to learn how to.

Think liberals play to many word agmes to hide the truth and advance there communist calls. Words such as liberal, equals, contrasting, always emphasizing l'difference whcih is a form of control in the from of equallity. yes thats what he meant.

"I call myself a liberal, in the true sense of liberal"... so basically Friedman is saying he's a classical liberal, contrasting to modern liberalism, which actually isn't really free or liberal at all, and he is saying he pefers a sort of liberalism which stays true to the meaning of liberalism, that is, freedom, which is closest to that of classical liberalism. That is how I interpret Friedman's words, if you think I'm wrong, reply.

The right wing rich assholes have raped america for 8 years and now Obama will fix the world. Obama will save the planet and tax the rich and give to the poor. Guys, Obama is going to pay my car payment for me. He will give me money and make me rich. So good to have a smart president and not some redneck idiot. Yes, I know. I also know that Smith was suspicious of a severe regulation known as limited liability incorporation with joint stock holding. Few people mention that these days. Indeed most people equate corporations with big business, but there are so many more.I also know Friedman was for limited government, not no government.
