I am Khmer and my mom always told me her greatest fear was seeing her daughters become prostitutes. I thought it was stupid at first, I could be doing worst things (like killing people or being a junkie). But I then realize that in Cambodia and Thailand, a lot of girls are sold or kidnapped into the sex trade. It's a great fear to many Cambodians. It's unbelievably sad! Some policemen and political figures are know to OWN brothels.
