June 2008At its peak in the 12th century, the Angkor kingdom spread across Cambodia, Thailand, Burma, Laos and Vietnam. Angkor is the largest pre-industrial city known to man. So how did Angkor mysteriously disappear?It was the size of modern LA, a masterpiece of civil engineering. Forests were stripped and rivers removed to make way for temples, palaces and markets. Then, in a development that has long perplexed archaeologists, Angkor suddenly vanished. Now a recent study by the University of Sydney is re-examining Angkor using radar remote-sensing data from NASA. As archaeologist Damien Evans explains, the team's findings give a stark warning to Cambodia's corrupt and greedy rulers, and to modern societies worldwide. You know the King brought prosperity to Cambodia that many who survived the Khmer Rouge are very nostalgic to this day.If anyone it should be Lon Nol, Pol Pot and the current Cambodian govt which fails to meet the country's pre-1975 status which is sad seeing as so many other countries are investing into Cambodia.

The official visit of Thai Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat to Cambodia has been canceled, an official of the Cambodian foreign ministry said Friday.The visit was scheduled on Oct. 13. The Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation did not elaborate the reason of the cancellation.

Vambodian people need Jesus. Cambodian people in this country (USA) have the same old habits. They seem not to learn from their mistakes. If they could have slaves they would have them, they will repeat history. I love Cambodia, my children are cambodian, but I am not. I can see what they can't. They went through so much but they don't feel sorry for no one else!!

I'm shocked! its wrong to blame pol pot? then we shouldnt blame hitler either. look at cambodia before khmer rouge. it was successful. losing a large part of the population affects the economy. what do you think that happens if you remove 1 or 2 million people?stupid westerns making world views from their living room. purhaps you dont have a mine field around your house, so you come on youtube and make stupid comments.

Stop blaming pol pot as your scape goats.If pol pot was evil and hun Sen is not much better either, except he stealing and selling Cambodia resources for his own greed and his own party and friends to get very wealthy and left the rest of the populations to the dirt.
