Sad situation, but the only way to deal with people like that is force. The nonviolent way only works if it's advantageous for other countries. The whole point of nonviolence is to make the aggressor look bad in the global eye and justify the world applying pressure. The US has way too much on its plate right now to help burma. So, what about armed uprising? The CIA secretly funds the refugees and non-mil population. China then funds the military. A proxy war between the west and china.

Its sad but true, and while we all sleep at night safe and sound, the people in Burma aren't so lucky. It a shame I was not allowed to go to Burma as a student exchange because they feared for our lives, its a shame.

Why did this discussion turn into a bashing session? A lot of you missed the entire point of the message. First of all, the U.S. government did not start this campaign...the people did. People who feel that all human beings should have the freedom to express themselves, feel safe in their own homes and communities, and that children should be free to be children. This is a serious threat against humanity and the people you should be bashing are Than Shwe and his regime.

All of these videos were finished before the cyclone hit. They were shot in April, you dummy. Do they look 'live' to you? What have you done lately to help anybody? At least the 'celebrities' involved in the Burma Campaign are trying to help. And are actually doing something.
